Your scholarship support sends a strong message. It not only makes a difference for our students financially; it lets them know that someone believes in them and their ability to succeed.

Creating a named scholarship through the Black Hawk College Foundation is one way you can assist students and leave a legacy to the College. It’s also a meaningful way to honor family and friends.

Simply determine if you wish to establish an annual scholarship or an endowed scholarship. We request that an annual scholarship be established with a minimum gift of $500 and a two year commitment.

Endowed scholarships are designed to be permanent and perpetual and can be created with gifts totaling a minimum of $10,000. The principal of the fund is invested, with only a percentage of the interest being used each year as scholarships.

You may also chose to simply contribute to an existing scholarship or contact Shelly Wells Cain at cains@bhc.edu to establish a new scholarship.

Because of the generosity of many individuals, organizations and foundations, the Black Hawk College Foundation is able to offer you many scholarship opportunities for financial support. Some scholarships are based on academics, some on financial need, and others may be based on your area of study.

Review our current available scholarships. Then download and complete the application form (in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, availabe on the scholarships web page) with the additional materials requested. Turn the completed information in to the Foundation Office by May 15, 2008. You will be notified of your award prior to the Fall 2008 semester.
